Biography:
Ashfaqulla Khan was born on 22 October 1900 in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Growing up in a patriotic family, he was deeply inspired by the Indian freedom struggle and joined the Hindustan Republican Association at a young age. Khan was known for his intellect, strategic thinking, and strong commitment to the cause of India’s independence.
He actively participated in revolutionary activities, most notably the Kakori Train Robbery in 1925, which aimed to secure funds for anti-British operations. Ashfaqulla Khan worked closely with other leaders like Ram Prasad Bismil, Chandrashekhar Azad, and Rajendra Lahiri, emphasizing unity between Hindu and Muslim revolutionaries to strengthen the movement.
Khan was arrested by the British after the Kakori case and, despite his youth, faced trial with courage. He was executed on 19 December 1927, becoming a martyr at the age of 27. His bravery, dedication, and vision for a united struggle against colonial rule continue to inspire generations of Indians.
